Monday, December 17, 2012: R.E.M. - It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Friends.  It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that Cool Song Of The Day will be coming to a close as of the end of the month.

It has been a wild ride.  I started this just by missing old friends, and I though that sharing songs would help.  From those humble beginnings, I'm managed to keep up sharing songs daily (well, six days a week, actually) since then.

I've gotten introduced to many new bands that I would have never had heard of if I hadn't been looking.  Or listening.  I've been re-introduced to some older favorites, I have gained some appreciation for some music that I wasn't too keen on at first, and I've come to understand that there is some music that is well and truly timeless.

However, this blog, humble though it is, does take up a significant part of my week.  The rub is, 2013 is going to be a pretty great year for me, I've got the engine running on some long overdue projects and goals, and I'm eager to put it in hear and throw the hammer down.  Unfortunately, that means that pretty much all, and I mean all, my free time needs to be laser focused.  And this blog, regardless of how much I love doing it, will need to be put aside.

Friends.  It's been a wild ride.  And I will truly miss sharing music, new and old, with you guys.  I will continue to throw songs up until December 31st.  From there, I will mostly be trying to maintain this as an archive, a historic record if you will, of how wonderful music can be.

And who knows, maybe I'll try to put up something new every now and then.  When the wind is blowing just right, and the setting sun is shining red in my eyes.  Who knows.

Anyway, it's been a blast.  But it's not the end of the world.  Despite what R.E.M. say.

Good things are coming, I promise.
