Friday, September 2, 2011: Frankie Lymon And The Teenagers - Why Do Fools Fall In Love?

Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers asked this in 1956.

And here, 45 years later, it is still a valid question.

Because it just seems like fools still fall in love. Or does falling in love make you a fool?

That's the question for the weekend, gentle reader.

Now, it's Friday. Go out there and fall in love.

Or be a fool.

Even better, you can do both

Have a great one, everybody

Thursday, September 1, 2011: Edwina Hayes - No Idea

How cool of a name is Edwina, eh?

Some might think it's a tad old fashioned, but with all the Britney's and Kortney's and Snookie's out there, it's good to hear a solid, pretty and elegant name like Edwina.

There are no strippers out there named Edwina, I can assure you. And that's a good thing.

What is also good, it Edwina Hayes' music. Not just good, actually, but pretty frickin' great

Born in Dublin and growing up in Preston, Lancashire before moving to the East coast of Yorkshire as a teenager, Edwina now divides her time between the UK and Nashville, building her career as a songwriter and artist.

Here's a track off her 2005 release Out On My Own.

And here's her website: Edwina Hayes

So start the month off right by getting to know her better.  It'll be worth your while

Here's the album cut of this 1970's classic rock staple.

Grab your cut-off t-shirt, get your mullet on, make sure your old ladie is in her best Daisy Dukes, get into your Chevelle, grab RC Cola and burn out like there's no tomorrow.

It's Monday - If you got a $100 bill put your hands up

If you got a $50 bill put your hands up

You got a $20 bill put your hands up

You got a $10 bill put your hands up

Everyone else, off to work you go -

And all the chicken heads, be quiet!

Saturday, August 27, 2011: The All 80's Farewell To Jump Week

We started off in the 80's, let's come full circle.

In fact, according to Wikipedia, "The original title given to the song simply was "Jump". The title was modified to "Jump (For My Love)" prior to its release to avoid confusion with the Van Halen song "Jump", which was released earlier the same year."

And now from the Oakland, California girls we move to the Calgary, Alberta boys, Loverboys actually, who are still ready to jump after all that working for the weekend.

So, this now officially concludes Jump Week here at CSOTD. I know that I'm exhausted from a full week of jumping.

I do hope this week was able to liven your spirits, at least a little.

And, if it hasn't, then I've saved the jumpiest number for last - the manic madness that is the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Enjoy.
