Thursday, April 3, 2025: Mumford & Sons - Caroline

Mumford and Sons (remember them?) just dropped their newest work, their fifth studio album, their first album in nearly seven years and also the first since the departure of guitarist and banjoist Winston Marshall in 2021. The remaining trio—Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane—collaborated with producer Dave Cobb to create this record, which was recorded between 2022 and 2024 at RCA Studio A in Nashville, their home studio in Devon, UK, and locations in Savannah, Georgia.

"Rushmere" sees Mumford & Sons returning to their folk origins, featuring familiar banjo and acoustic instrumentation, and existential themes, reminiscent of their earlier work.

I've always dug these cats, can't wait to hear the whole album.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011: Mumford & Sons - Hold On To What You Believe

Mumford & Sons are a shockingly great band out of West London.

This band specializes in pure joy, gentle reader, no studio trickery or wizardry, just talent.

They specialize is old school that just doesn't mean going back to the ten or twenty years, they are old school that dates back generations. Probably centuries.

Seriously, one of the few bands out today where I just run out of superlatives.

Please do enjoy, and support this band as are bound for glory, and goodness knows the world needs less gimmicks and more heart.

And these boys have heart by the truckload.
