Thursday, November 7, 2024: Alvvays - After The Earthquake

I'm a sucker for jangly, dreamy indie pop.  Going all the way back to groups like The Smiths or The Cranberries, and up to groups like Best Coast, gimme gimme gimme that jangly, dreamy music.

There was a group I posted on CSOTD that had that sound down, they were called The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, and I love every second of their records.

This group, Alvvays, I think will soon occupy that same space.

Alvvays is a Canadian indie pop band known for creating a unique blend of dream pop and indie rock. The band is fronted by Molly Rankin, whose vocals lend an ethereal quality to their music.  Their most recent album, Blue Rev, released in 2022, has received acclaim for its introspective lyrics that explore love, loss, and nostalgia, with some tracks reflecting a more vulnerable and contemplative side of Rankin's songwriting.
