Thursday, September 16, 2010: Grinderman - When My Love Comes Down
Judas Priest was always big on the idea of "light and shade" in their music, and so are we here at CSOTD.
Yesterdays light from the lovely Reba McEntire is now contrasted with the very shady Nick Cave and his new(ish) project Grinderman.
Grinderman is what Tin Machine should have been if Bowie had any balls.
This is noise, people, glorious, resplendent, triumphant noise. Wicked noise. Noise to fill the heavens and the earth.
While everything else is safe and sterile, while rebellion is bought, sold and marketed to all the young dudes as pre-packaged anger and manufactured rage at some vague, nameless machine, Thank God there's groups like Grinderman and musicians like Nick Cave to show us all who have fallen what real rock & roll used to be like.
Lead us into the light, Nick Cave, for we have strayed so far from the path.
