The Miller sisters actually started playing together as teens, and the band formed officially around 2013. Their name, The Beaches, comes from the Toronto neighborhood where they grew up.
Musically, they mix gritty garage rock with catchy pop hooks — think somewhere between The Strokes and Haim, with a bit of glam and punk attitude thrown in. Some of their big influences include Blondie, The Ramones, and The Runaways.
Their 2023 album "Blame My Ex" pushed them into a new level of fame.
