Tuesday, April 15, 2025: TWOfer Tuesday - The "On This Day: April 15, 1912" Edition

The Titanic struck an iceberg at 11:40 pm (ship's time) on 14 April 1912, on her maiden voyage, and sank two hours and forty minutes later, in the Northern Atlantic Sea, on 15 April 1912; 113 years ago.

These are facts, and not up for debate.  What is up for debate, honestly, is the question, "Is 'My Heart Will Go On' a cool song?"

I'm on the fence, actually.  It's certainly not my favorite Celine Dion song, that would be the wonderful It's All Coming Back To Me Now (God, I love Jim Steinman's songs so damn much!).  I think I side with cool just because of it's cultural impact alone.  And Celine's glorious vocals.

I'm willing to roll with it for now.  And, even more importantly, 113 years later, let us still pause to give a thought to the approximately 1,500 souls lost on that fateful, dark morning.
