Thievery Corporation is a Washington, D.C.-based duo formed in 1995 by Rob Garza and Eric Hilton. They are known for their eclectic sound, which blends elements of electronic music, dub, reggae, bossa nova, jazz, and world music.
The vocals are performed by Pam Bricker, an American jazz singer and professor of music at George Washington University. She frequently collaborated with Thievery Corporation, particularly during the late 1990s and early 2000s, where her lush, hypnotizing and ethereal voice complemented the downtempo, atmospheric vibe of the band perfectly.
She took her own life in 2005.
