You know Benmont Tench, even if the name doesn't sound familiar.
He is renowned as the longtime keyboardist and co-founder of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, but you also have heard his studio session work and live gigs with the likes of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, U2, the Rolling Stones, and a veritable who’s-who list of rock greats.
Last month, he just released his second solo album, The Melancholy Season, via Dark Horse Records.
This is his first solo album since 2014's You Should Be So Lucky. The Melancholy Season was produced by Jonathan Wilson and features contributions from artists such as Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Jenny O., and Sebastian Steinberg.
Don't ever tell me they don't make great music anymore, when it's all around us. Even in 2025. Enjoy.
