Linda Ronstadt can do it all: Pop, Country, Soul, Big Band, you name it. She could probably cut a half decent Norwegian Black Metal Album if she put her mind to it. Ronstadt lives in that rarefied upper stratosphere of vocal talent, next to people like Karen Carpenter or even Barbra Streisand.
What is so great about Linda Ronstadt's career, is that so often she openly shared the spotlight, letting other vocalists stretch out to the sky right along with her own voice.
It's something to have tremendous talent. It a whole different level to use that talent to lift up others, mixing ingredients not only to make magic, but to make something truly spellbinding.
SIDE NOTE: If you are a younger person who has just stumbled onto my blog, and you've never seen the Don Bluth animated masterpiece, "An American Tale", stop everything you're doing and go watch it right now.
