Friday, August 31, 2012: Boston - Don't Look Back

It's funny to talk up the merits of not looking back, especially when you're talking about a song released well over thirty years ago.

This song was, as much as any one song was, THE soundtrack to my childhood.  Those guitars, those vocals, that album cover.  I've talked before about how music is a time machine, and this is one of those songs that instantly takes me back to that summer of 1978.

My Schwinn with the banana seat.  KMET 94.7 on the radio.  Learning to draw from CARtoons magazine.  Barney Miller and Chico & The Man on the TV.  Really great memories.

So don't look back, gentle reader.  Well, maybe just to mine for cool songs and cooler memories.
